Who wants to lawsuit Paris Hilton?

A $35 million lawsuit against Paris Hilton which alleged she failed to promote a range of hair extensions has been dropped. IOL pic dec17 paris hilton

The 30-year-old socialite was accused of missing a launch party for HairTech International products in 2007, and was also seen wearing a competitor’s extensions.

The company had paid her $3.5 million to be the face of their Dream Catchers range of clip-in locks.

However, the company’s founder and CEO Chris Volek has now admitted the allegations were wrong and has dropped the case against her.

The blonde star – who had countersued for $2.1 million in damages and had missed the launch party because she was in jail for violating the terms of her probation as a result of a reckless driving charge - admits she is pleased with the decision.

She said: “It is certainly not unusual for businesspeople to have their disagreements, but I am glad that Chris has acknowledged the hard work and dedication I put into promoting his products.”

Discussing why he had dropped the case, Chris – who had claimed her failure to turn up to the party had lost the company $6.6 million in lost revenue on its own – confessed the information he had received about her actions had been incorrect.

He said in a statement: “The information I received from others and on which I based the lawsuit was not accurate.” - Bang Showbiz

Coca Cola: The Original Recipe

ORIGINAL RECIPE

Originally aired 02.11.2011
The formula for Coca-Cola is one of the most jealously guarded trade secrets in the world. Locked in a vault in Atlanta. Supposedly unreplicable. But we think we may have found the original recipe. And to see if the formula actually might be Coke, we made a batch. Or, anyway, we asked the folks at Jones Soda and Sovereign Flavors to whip up some up, to see if it tastes like Coke. The recipe is here.
he formula for Coca-Cola is one of the most jealously guarded trade secrets in the world. So we were surprised to come across a 1979 newspaper article with what looked like the original recipe for Coke. Talking to historian Mark Pendergrast, author of For God, Country and Coca-Cola, we were even more surprised when we found reasons to believe the recipe is real. (25 minutes)

New York Fashion Week arrives with...

...images of flowers, delicate pastels and intricately painted eggs come to mind when most people think of springtime. For the fashion minded, however, one event stands out: The New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter collections.

The semi-annual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week takes place in New York City every February and September. Although the fashion weeks that are hosted in February events showcasing fall clothing lines aren't as big as the shows in September, the collections are no less magnificent.

While many great collections have drawn inspiration from the past, the fashion industry key's to success remains evolution. Moving forward is the driving force behind designs. The Fall/Winter 2010 collections varied as much as the designers' personal styles.

During last year's New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter, which ran from Feb. 11-18, 2010, the iconic Ralph Lauren showed Sherpa-lined jackets with crocheted knit sweaters. A more dainty, autumn-appropriate floral was modeled in full skirt and maxi dress form. Staying true to fall's neutral color scheme, the collection was full of blacks, burgundies, grays and muted greens. Hints of jewel tones and crushed velvet made a cameo appearance...read more on newsrecord.org http://tinyurl.com/4v4kclc

Michelle Obama in fashion confession

First lady Michelle Obama talked about food (healthy and junk), fashion, Sarah Palin and President Obama finally quitting smoking in a wide-ranging interview on Tuesday, pegged to the first anniversary today of her "Let's Move" anti-childhood obesity campaign.

Mrs. Obama lunched with 10 reporters -- all women, as it happens -- who cover her the most, including the Chicago Sun-Times. These sessions are rare, only the fourth time Mrs. Obama has met with her print press corps since becoming first lady.

She sat for an hour in the Old Family dining room kicking off a media blitz over a seared rack of lamb to mark the first year of "Let's Move," which is the biggest item on her policy agenda. Next month, Mrs. Obama will be launching a new initiative dealing with helping military families. She's not sure when she will jump on the 2012 Obama re-election campaign trail....

ON FASHION

Mrs. Obama wore a sleeveless Marc Jacobs dress to the lunch. American designer Oscar de la Renta criticized her for wearing a British gown to the China state dinner last month.

Mrs. Obama said she continues to work with Chicago clothier Ikram Goldman; there had been some reports to the contrary.

"I've always bought clothes from Ikram. And to the extent that -- I mean, it's really nothing has kind of changed. It's kind of interesting where these stories come from, that sort of thing. I didn't do anything different. I didn't," she said.

As for the fashion flap, she said: "This is my philosophy. I hope that women learn to wear what they love ... like to patronize American designers, and the vast majority of the clothes that I wear are. But there are a lot of other designers that have cute stuff, too."

Golden Globe Fashion Face-Off: Megan Fox vs. Olivia Wilde - The Hollywood Gossip

Golden Globe Fashion Face-Off: Megan Fox vs. Olivia Wilde - The Hollywood Gossip

Megan Fox once said Olivia Wilde was "so sexy, she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox."

Fortunately, despite these actresses both appearing at last night's Golden Globe Awards, no animals were harmed.

But the jaws of men everywhere might be sore today, after crashing to the floor following the sight of two such beauties at the same place.

Neither took home a trophy, but we have a feeling either could go home with anyone they wanted to overall.

Which star looked the most stunning on the red carpet?
